Mayra De Peña is a NYS licensed psychotherapist and school social worker who joined the NYC Public Schools in February of 2022 after serving 15 years as a Child Protective Specialist for NYC Children. She enjoys working with families to help them identify their own strengths and increase their resilience towards challenging situations. Mayra prioritizes building trusting relationships with students and their caregivers to support them in creating spaces where empathy meets courageous conversations. She has been a member of the District 13 Team since September 2022 and has supported schools with cultivating a compassionate and responsive school community.
